| Teenage Sexuality Program |
|
Rationale Adolescence is a very sexual period of one's life. Adolescents become very much aware of their sexual feelings, that they begin to wonder at their bodies' sexual function and, at times, experiment with them. They are intensely and passionately engaged in establishing intimate relationships that are independent of their families they are inclined to develop social skills, experiment with new social roles, and establish a unique personal identity. Their expression of sexual urges interacts closely with two other needs: the need for security or freedom from anxiety, and the need for intimacy or close collaborative relationship with others. During this period, the quality of adolescent love continues to be largely egocentric. Over the course of adolescence, teenagers move from the indirect, relatively non-threatening sexuality of childhood to the more intense, complex, and socially loaded relationships of adulthood. Cognizant of this complex stage of human development, this program is designed to take on the responsibility of helping teenagers clarify issues on their sexuality- the aspect of their education which is usually neglected if not avoided, by many parents or guardians. Description The TEENAGE SEXUALITY PROGRAM is a one-day seminar- workshop designed for all third year students of Assumption College of Davao. Objectives |
