Parents Development Program

I.                   Rationale:

While parenting is an absorbing experience, it is also a delight. To find real joy in parenting, parents must truly love their children. However, at times with limited background on parenting, parents are faced with difficulty in rearing their children. Moreover, with the rise of modern technologies, parents have difficulty communicating with their children, thus a communication gap as well as a generation gap occurs. Parenthood is one of the most difficult challenges married couples face in life. No school has taught them to become parents. In as much as there is a close partnership between the home and the school in educating children, they work hand in hand in molding the child to become a wholly integrated person who will actively participate in the transformation of society.

Thus in line with the expressed need of parents to acquire more skills in parenting, Assumption College of Davao has come up with a program designed to complement parents’ efforts in raising their children.
