With this, special provision is made to enable pupils enhance their mathematical skills as they perform different exercises, brain booster activities and word problems through varied strategies to keep the pupils with the current trend and help them prepare for future challenges. The emphasis and depth of contents vary, but they progress coherently from one grade level to the other.

II. Nature:

The enrichment program is designed for pupils who possess an unlimited wealth of potentials in Mathematics. It aims to develop better understanding of mathematical concepts through games, puzzles and problems to ensure that pupils gain speed, accuracy and masters of mathematical skills. It also strives to develop the pupil’s mathematical reasoning and higher order thinking skills as they practice problem solving strategies.

It is hoped that pupils who are recipients of the enrichment program will be provided with a good avenue for making mathematics more meaningful and fun to learn.

III. Objectives:

The Assumption College of Davao provides enrichment activities for pupils whose diagnostic test results in Mathematics are above average, superior or excellent.

Specifically, it is to help the child

  • enhance his /her mathematical skills
  • express his/her best to the fullest
  • to be analytical, critical and confident in solving mathematical problems
  • practice speed, accuracy and mastery of mathematical skills

IV. Administration of Procedure:

The enrichment program accommodates children who are enrolled from Grade IV to VI.

  1. It is conducted every semester, July to October and November to February.
  2. It is held once a week, every Saturday for two hours.
